Monthly Archives: June 2010
I know it’s a little late, but since I don’t use my Facebook account much, I was the last to hear about Jeremy’s big moment on the news with the release of the new iPhone. If you want to see, he’s briefly interviewed 56 seconds in to the newscast. If you don’t know who he is – he’s a good friend of ours (we all have season tickets together for hockey, and he’s my current DM).
As for the new iPhone, we just adjusted our monthly plan to allow unlimited SMS and cut back our data plan (we barely used it anyway since we have wi-fi access most places), but we’re not upgrading to a new phone yet. My 3G still works fine and I’m not a big fan of the first release of any big new product, regardless of the manufacturer (thank you Microsoft, for teaching me that lesson). Besides, I’m saving up for the next version of the iPad.
A friend picked up a set of Spaced Out embroidery patterns for me by Sublime Stitching while she was taking classes at the Stitch Lab. I’m so excited! I haven’t tried embroidering since I got my new glasses, so it should be a little easier now (I’d really like to finish my Invader Zim pillow).
And Sublime Stitching sells glow-in-the-dark thread too! How freaking awesome is that?
…when you combine a deliciously dense cheesecake, a friend, dOoOmcat, and a little dorkiness?
It’s such a happy song!
The song Satellite is on the album called My Cassette Player, which is kinda funny when the artist is probably too young to have owned one (yeah, I realize that she’s credited for some of the writing, including the song My Cassette Player). Our friend at Waterloo was able to order it, and Candy Pants picked it up for me last night during his usual music run.
I listened to part of it on the way into work today and so far I really like it. However, there is one thing that pisses me off about the album. It’s missing the song New Shoes (track 14). That was one of the songs I was looking forward to hearing after reviewing the short clip, but I didn’t realize that it was only available on the deluxe album (my excuse is that my German sucks). It was pricey enough as in import so I’m not going to bother trying to purchase the expanded album for just one song. I’ll just have to figure out how to buy the song off the German or Swiss iTunes Store instead.
I’d write a review, but I don’t know enough about music to to be able say anything other than I either liked it or I didn’t. That’s something my husband is much better at, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get him to give Lena a try… although if he’s willing to listen to Little Wings, he should be willing to give Lena a shot.
