Four of our Texas Stars used to play for the Moose. Maxime Fortunus played 271 games, Greg Rallo played 66 games, Ray Sawada played 55 games, and Trevor Ludwig played 16 game. There was some discussion on how they’d do up against their old teammates; however, it turned out that only six players from last year came back to Manitoba for the 2010-2011 season. So it was practically a new team anyway.
It was also Francis Wathier’s 26th birthday.
Francis Wathier celebrated his 26th birthday with a goal and an assist in the game. The winger, who started the day with the Dallas Stars in Columbus, hoped to finish the day at home with his wife and “a little glass of wine and maybe some cake, hopefully.”
I’d have made him a nice cake if I had the chance… as well as one for Philip Larsen, whom everyone seemed to forget about while he’s up playing for Dallas. He turned 21 yesterday. Tillykke med fødselsdagen!
Once again, for the best information about this game, visit the wrap up by Hundred Degree Hockey. He even had it posted before we got home from the game last night.
This was the fourth Stars goal of the evening and it was scored by Sawada.
Mathieu Tousignant (#40) and Evan Oberg (#27)
Ondrej Roman (#20) and Kevin Connauton (#6)
