2012 Cake Show: Teen Division

Teen (13 – 17 years)

Each teen must bake, ice and decorate their own entry. Open to all styles.

* As with most of the divisions and categories, I didn’t photograph every entry. These are ones I liked or that caught my eye for some reason.

There were some problems with showing the winners for the first few divisions, so I only have info on three of the winning cakes in this division even though I know I have images of some of the other winners. If you have any clarification or additional information, please let me know and I’ll update this post (hopefully Capital Confectioners will have the information on their site soon).

Teen Special Occasion/Novelty One Tier: Any non-tiered cake with a theme such a Birthday, Holiday, Wedding, etc. Any sugar mediums or techniques may be used.

By the time I saw the cake on Saturday, Prince Charming had already toppled over, so I’m not sure if he made it to judging or not.

Rapunzel's Tower - day two
By Sunday, a large chunk of the tower had fallen down.

I found it funny that this showed up in the Teen division. Although Berlin Wall cake would apply to this as well.

I was so amazed by the work on this cake that I definitely remember he won first place for it. He was also the divisional winner for Teens.

While I’m normally not a big fan of purple, I love the tones she used for the flowers.
